THE PROJECT.
ENHANCING HISTORY
On the second floor of Al Pontile Restaurant on Ascona's picturesque lakefront, Salon Bleu continues to enchant with its historic charm, renovated to accommodate events and private parties with contemporary elegance.
This iconic space retains all of its original character: stunning solid wood paneling, two magnificent leaded stained glass windows that tell the story of Ascona's skyline in shades of blue, refined ceiling moldings, and a Carrara marble floor enhanced by elegant dark inserts. A sinuous display case, a symbol of Salon Bleu's history, has also been preserved and reinterpreted.
The renovation project kept the memory of these elements alive, enhancing them through a skillful balance of modern details. Vertical surfaces have been enlivened with colors ranging from blue/grey to soft gold, while the stone grey ceiling adds depth and sophistication. The Carrara marble floor, with its natural luminosity, becomes the focal point that binds the entire room together.
The bathrooms on the floor also underwent a fascinating makeover, transforming into little gems. The old tiles have been covered with textured micro-cement in the same blue hues as the hall, while gold accessories and backlit mirrors add a touch of luxury and modernity.
This complex but incredibly creative project managed to breathe new life into Salon Bleu, balancing tradition and innovation. The space, with its revamped style, remains a witness to Ascona's history, ready to tell new stories and welcome unforgettable moments.
