The client of the house in Gentilino (Lugano) had the desire to lighten and make the living area more modern.

Given the strong character of the spaces, the exposed beams have been enhanced by making the space between them lighter than the existing walnut wood beads. The impression of the whole room is immediately brighter.

The project plays on the contrasts between traditional and modern, warm and cold colors, rustic materials and linear materials. Parapets and partitions in waxed iron become the common thread of the entire project. The fireplace area has completely changed with the massive granite counter and stacked wood, which hides practical niches.

The sofa is very linear and its neutral colors match the context.
