MIGROS AARE RESTAURANT CONTEST

THE PROJECT.

RESTAURANT AS A MEETING PLACE BETWEEN GENERATIONS, WHERE THE WARMTH OF MEMORIES IS INTERTWINED WITH A CONTEMPORARY LANGUAGE

Inspiration is rooted in the kitchens of the 1950s and 1970s, reinterpreted with a modern twist to create an authentic and welcoming atmosphere. Objects and forms from the past - cast-iron or glazed stoves and ovens, decorative tiles, wooden utensils, ceramic or metal containers - become protagonists, dialoguing with natural materials and refined finishes.

The design evokes the charm of country homes, with framed furniture, open niches, shell handles and warm earth tones. In the center, a large flexible buffet enlivens the Free Flow area, adapting offerings throughout the day, while Take Away areas and freestanding pop-up corners complete the experience, offering variety and dynamism.

Interior spaces are designed to meet different needs: convivial areas for sharing a meal, private spaces for more intimate moments, and workplace areas with fast connectivity and available outlets. Semi-transparent partitions, made with traditional utensils or vegetation, create smooth transitions between different areas. The outdoor space also reflects this philosophy, with fixed and movable furniture, water features, greenery, and decorative lighting that invite you in.

The result is a restaurant that celebrates roots and traditions, but with an eye toward the present, capable of combining aesthetics, functionality and a welcoming experience for every generation.
